Bersih 4.0

The nation is in crisis. The numerous financial scandals, falling ringgit, implementation of GST, and curtailment of our fundamental freedoms have resulted in a loss of trust and public confidence in the government. Transparency and accountability are non-existent. Those exercising the levers of power are not using them for the public good. There is scant attention by the leadership to the economic crisis and the hardship faced by the people. The unbridled corruption against a background of diminishing civil and political rights, has created an environment of uncertainty and the welfare of the people does not appear to be a priority.

Schedule 30 Aug 2015 @ Kuala Lumpur: 7am - 9pm ...and till midnight
From Bersih 2.0: On Sunday 30th August morning, we kick off with a morning exercise at various spots. St John’s Cathedral has invited Catholic Rally goers to attend mass at 7 am. At 9 am we plan to hold interfaith prayers. At 10 am, songs and dances and speeches will resume before we break for lunch. Maria Chin, Ambiga and youth leaders will speak at various parts of the city. From 2 pm onwards, new performers will take to the stage. Prayers and dinner break is from 7-9pm.
The night activities will resume at 9pm and again, with speeches from BERSIH 2,0 Steering committee members and right when the clock strikes 12.00am, we will sing the national anthem ‘Negaraku’ to usher in Merdeka Day. Participants are encouraged to bring the Jalur Gemilang for this segment of our 34-hour rally.
BERSIH 2.0 encourages everyone who takes part in Bersih to create their own group activities wherever they are located. Suggested activities include: poetry reading, speeches, dance, singing, chanting, face-painting, and poster-making. In the spirit of this peaceful rally, we encourage Malaysians who are present to take part in activities which are aimed to build trust and understanding, through sharing the hopes and dreams participants have about the future of Malaysia.
